Hate toDoomed to be that guy, but a series of one-family shanties isn’t nearly as crowded as an urban residential area, packing humans up into the sky.
Plus, what if your readers live in, say, the slums of Cairo? Then thinking about these Chinese would seem sort of narcissistic and/or redundant.
